We love what we do and it shows!
We are a Orange County based studio offering stylish floral and event design services. You give us your vision and we make it reality, everything from stunning table centerpieces, ceremony and reception flowers, gorgeous bouquets, and the very last details of your entire floral decor.
In addition to flowers we are able to provide you with your total event planning and/or day of coordination. From large corporate events and weddings to small intimate dinner parties and birthdays/showers, our goal is to exceed the dreams and vision of our clients and couples each and every time. Creative owner and lead designer Katie McCormick AIFD, CFD, was born and raised in Illinois, but her dreams didn't stop there! She moved the KM Floral Design studio from Chicago to Orange County in 2008 and since than has created some of the most prestigious, memorable events in the Orange County/Los Angeles area.
With over 15 years of event experience and close to 500 beautiful weddings & parties behind her, the leader of the KM Events team is a true event professional. With a passion for weddings, and a genuine, warm Midwest personality, Katie joins her clients along their planning journey, and quickly becomes not only a hired vendor, but a friend.
FROM KATE: It all started with my father's nursery and flower shop. All of my earliest and fondest memories revolve around the nursery and playing in the dirt by the potted plants, climbing the big hill out back, riding on the tractor and the flower shop no doubt sparked my early love and passion for flowers and plants.
As time passed and as I got older, I graduated from being the nuisance that I surely was and started pitching in, helping with planting and maintaining cultivars, pruning and propagating trees, and designing flowers for weddings and parties. What started out as being daddy's little girl became a passion and love for floral design.
While completing both my degrees from UIUC in Horticulture, I grew restless and turned to floral design with a further desire to learn, which soon became an obsession. It has been common practice to attend conference after conference for new and fresh ideas, a number of competitions, and trying new combinations of flowers just for the fun of it.
After countless requests from friends and family to do their wedding flowers I decided starting my own business, doing something I love, might not be such a bad idea. Following my dream has led me to where I am today, now designing and servicing events and weddings up and down the west coast. I believe it has been my attention to detail, ability to relate and interpret, my passion for flowers and design, my talented staff, and hard work that has made KM Floral Design what it is today. I love what I do and delight in meeting new clients for a new challenge.
